February CNCAC Meet & Greet  presents Jaime Koebel. Join us on Thursday February 27that the boardroom of the Council for the Arts in Ottawa, located at 2 Daly Avenue, Ottawa, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. As an Indigenous Arts Activist, Jaime Koebel has a passion to educate on social, political, cultural and historical issues through Indigenous art. From February to November 2013, Jaime served as the Sakahàn Educator at the National Gallery of Canada for the ground-breaking exhibition: "Sakahàn - International Indigenous Art." It is from this exhibition and her own personal experiences that Jaime will present on.  In 2001-2002, Jaime was an international representative for the World Conference Against Racism to the Department of Canadian Heritage and to the Minister of State responsible for Multiculturalism & the Status of Women. In 2010, Jaime accompanied former Governor General of Canada on a state to Mexico, Guatemala & Costa Rica to exchange information with sectors including Indigenous women, youth and artists. Six CNCAC Artists at the Richcraft Recreation Complex in Kanata features different techniques and artistic expressions.  Open from Feb. 3 to May 5th. The CNCAC will exhibit the artwork of its members from February 2013 until February 2017. If you would like to volunteer with the organization of future exhibitions, you are most welcome.
